How to make scrunchy
「シュシュの作り方」

アキちゃんに教えてもらいました。英語ライティング上達のためにも日本語と英語で書いてみます。ものの作り方の手順を英語で書く、って結構むずかしいよね。

１：布を12〜13cm ×50cmの大きさに切る。（長細い長方形）
Cut the fabric into 12〜13cm ×50cm, that will be a shape of long rectangle.

２：布を裏が前に来るようにして半分に重ねて折る。重ねたふちの部分を直線に縫う。このときのマチは１cmくらいだったかな。
Make the rectangle into half size by folding it into half with its surface inside. Then sew the meeting point of fabric straight, 1cm of godet should be enough.

３：ふちを縫って輪の状態になったら、画像のように下の部分、上の部分を内側に折り込んでいく。このときも布の裏面が表面に出ているように。（後でひっくり返すから、途中の作業はすべて裏が表面に出ている状態ね）
It will be a one big circle after you saw the edge. Then you put the down side and upside of fabric into the middle like the picture below. Note that you must keep the backside of fabric is facing you, not the front side. Because you it will be in-side out later.

４：内側に折り込んだら、織り込んだ布の反対（裏と言いますか、なんていうのかね。この写真で見る表の柄が見えている布のことね）にある布の上と下をくっつけて縫う。中に折り込んだ布はいっしょに縫っちゃだめよ。織り込んだ部分はずっと内側にいるように。
When you fold the up and down side into the middle like the picture, fold under fabric in to half. The fabric you centered in the middle should be in the right middle of its fabric. Then sew the meeting point with the godet of 1cm.

５：上下を合わせたふちを縫っていくと、内側に折り込んだ布をくるんでいくように、輪を一周縫うことができる。輪のはじからはじまで全部縫うのではなくて、間に２〜３cmのスキマを開けておくように。ここからゴムを通すから。
Don’t sew them all around, edge to edge, remember to leave 2 or 3 cm open because that’s where you make the fabric in-side out, and that hole will became the entrance gate for gum.

６：というわけで、ほぼ一周縫ったら、開けておいたスキマから指をつっこんで表と裏をひっくりかえす。
Are you ready to make it into in-side out? Let’s do it!. Just be careful not to come apart the sawing.

７：するときれいな輪っかになるはず。
OK. Now you see a beautiful shape of circle.

８：また、開けておいたスキマから髪の毛を結いやすいながさのゴムを通して、かた結びする。布の輪のサイズに対して、ゴム輪が小さいほどシュシュのふんわり感は大きくなる、はず……。
Finally, you can put through the gom into the hole. Using gom guide stick will make the work easier. Just make sure that you have right length. Smaller the length, fluffier the scrunchy.
